Public officers want improved service delivery

SEROWE – Public officers in the Serowe/Palapye Sub-District have called for a review of policies for different government departments and parastatal institutions with a view to improve service delivery.

They made the call during the Serowe/Palapye Sub District consultative workshop in Serowe on Wednesday.

For instance they said the land use, environmental, settlement and housing policies, as well as the ones on wildlife management, education, youth and health among others should be re-drafted in a customer friendly way.

To improve service delivery in the agricultural sector, Botalaote Cllr Baratiwa Matlhootlhe said more officers should be deployed in the rural areas to assist farmers.

He regretted that most people who were provided with donkeys under ALDEP have sold them to other farmers instead of using them for the intended purpose.

He said agricultural officers should make regular follow ups on the beneficiaries to help curb the problem.
