Microsoft spent millions of dollars advertising its next generation OS ‘Windows Vista’ in China, in fact the IT juggernaut threw up the biggest Vista Ad on the 421 meter high Jin Mao tower in Shanghai China. However after 2 weeks (Jan 19 to Feb 2) from launch Microsoft managed to sell a mere 244 copies of Windows Vista. Software piracy is rampant in the middle kingdom and a pirated version of Vista sells for a mere $1 on the streets. The following numbers are quoted by Windows Vista chief distributor in Bejing.

Norway’s royal palace ran the risk of being sold cheap on the auction website eBay when a hoax advertisement offered it for one dollar, media reported on Thursday.
“Cheap! The royal palace of a young monarchy, just 102 years old, is on sale,” the offer read and it had already fetched a bid of $99 999 999 before being taken down on Thursday morning.
“At the moment, the castle is in Norway but it can be moved to another country whenever. The King and Queen are not included in the price, but I am sure that they would move with the Royal Palace,” it added.
According to media reports the anonymous ad featuring a picture of the stately yellow building was still posted on eBay on Wednesday evening and was to run until March 14.
The Norwegian royal palace in the centre of the capital Oslo was built in 1849 and is the residence and workplace of King Harald and Queen Sonja.
Contacted to AFP, the royal palace’s spokesperson declined to comment on the case.
Harare – A burglar broke into a café in northern Zimbabwe in the dead of night, packed his loot and promptly fell asleep, it was reported on Thursday.
Police in Bindura town had an easy job catching their man as he only woke up when he was being handcuffed, the official Herald newspaper reported.
The suspect, aged 27, cut through burglar bars on Saturday to gain access to Chipindura food outlet. He then disconnected electrical gadgets, packed up loot worth ZIM$2-million (about R59 000) and then fell asleep before he could escape, said the report.
The café owner and her husband were astonished to find him there when they arrived to open the café early in the morning. They quickly locked the man inside and rushed for the police.
All we can say is that God delivered him into our hands, said Chipo Matake.
The thief has accused the Matakes of using magic to protect their property. He is expected to appear in court soon, the Herald said. – Sapa-dpa
