Govt budget on backpays to shoot up

Government will have to dig deeper into its coffers to cater for over 60,000 Industrial Class employees who were left out when trade unions and government reached an agreement on uniform working hours and backpays.

It is expected that civil servants will be paid backpays dating back to May 1st when the new Public Service Act (PSA) became operational and the budget for this could run into hundreds of millions of Pula.
