South Africa: Municipal workers back public servants

Municipal services in Pretoria will be affected on Friday as the South African Municipal Workers Union embarks on a solidarity strike with their public service counterparts.
Expected to be affected are bus services and refuse removal, which might see the municipality using contractors to collect garbage.
A disruption of the bus system will come nearly two weeks after Tshwane municipal bus drivers embarked on a wildcat strike.
According to Samwu, if the current pubic sector dispute is not resolved by the end of Thursday, their 52 000 members would go into solidarity action.
