Minister launches new immigration uniform
The new uniform designed for the Department of Immigration, manufactured to the tune of P2.6 million, will help arrest the problem of impostors who defraud people pretending to be employees of the organisation, Labour and Home Affairs Minister, Peter Siele, says.
Speaking at the launch of the new uniform, Siele said unscrupulous thieves took advantage of the fact that the department did not have a standardised uniform.
“This scenario has brought with it some adverse repercussions which include the loss of identity and a poor image. It has also created problems for the public whom we serve, as they have often been unable to tell who the real immigration officer is,” he said.
