Shoprite opens doors in Serowe today

SEROWE – Shoprite today further expand its franchise tentacles in Botswana as it will officially open yet another branch in Serowe.

According to one of the organisers of the opening ceremony, Mr Knight Ganje, the branch, Shoprite U Save is expected to create about 12 new jobs for the local community.

Our managers are also local citizens from other branches and will be afforded an opportunity to manage the store, Mr Ganje said in an interview.

Mr Ganje also said other than creating employment opportunities for the people of Serowe, they are going to make use of the local contractors for maintenance and other services thus contributing to the reduction of the unemployment level.

He said Serowe is a big village and they believe they can make a difference by establishing a branch in the village. Mr Ganje said Shoprite prides itself in being a limited assortment store selling basic items at low prices.

He explained that in Botswana there is one Shoprite U Save in Kanye and five Shoprite stores countrywide.
