Europe flights still on hold, says SAA

Flights between South Africa and major European airports remain grounded due to volcanic ash in Europe’s airspace, South African Airways said on Sunday.

All flights out of South Africa to London would remain cancelled until Monday at 2am, when British authorities would review the situation, airline spokesperson Fani Zulu said.

There were also no planes leaving for Munich or Frankfurt in Germany.

“A further communique will be made once Britain has made the review. The German authorities are meeting. They will advise us accordingly.”
