Economic promotion fund projects not doing well

GABORONE – Economic promotion fund projects are not doing well due to mismanagement of funds, lack of commitment and abandonment of projects by beneficiaries.

According to Assistant Minister of Local Government, Mr Kentse Rammidi, of all the income generating projects that were funded, 30 per cent were operational and only 10 per cent were profitable.

Mr Rammidi said the overall effectiveness of Remote Area Development Programme (RADP) had been limited by challenges ranging from lack of market, mismanagement and lack of commitment in both income generating projects and the livestock scheme.
