Govt proposes World Bank loan

GABORONE – Government is proposing to raise a P931 million (US$ 136.4 million) loan from the World Bank for part financing the Morupule B Power Station project.

Presenting a bill to that effect, Minister of Finance and Development Planning, Mr Kenneth Matambo said the proposed loan would finance the purchase and installation of three main transformers, transmission line from Morupule B to Phokoje and a water pipeline from the new Paje/Mmashoro well-field to the project site.
