Internet connectivity challenge to Botswana

GABORONE – Botswana has made good progress in policy, legal and infrastructure development, but there are weaknesses that need to be overcome in order to face the challenges of Information and Communication Technology for Development (ICT4D).

This observation was made by delegates at the Thetha ICT4D regional forum hosted by the UB Department of Library and Information Studies (DLIS), which brought together participants from five SADC member states.

The forum follows a study by a team of researchers at UB on the progress made in Botswana towards an information society.
