SEROWE – Government will, in June, come up with a policy meant to allow departments to buy goods produced locally, Assistant Minister of Presidential Affairs and Public Administration, Mr Mokgweetsi Masisi has revealed.

Addressing Serowe Administration Authority sub-council meeting on Tuesday, Mr Masisi said the import substitution sub-committee under the Cabinet Committee of Economic Empowerment will come up with a memorandum, which will direct government department to buy locally produced goods.

This move will, according to the assistant minister, help government in its endeavour to eradicate poverty and help businesses to set up manufacturing plants for supply to the local economy.
