Projects to change Mahalapye landscape

MAHALAPYE – The government’s initiative to bring developments in Botswana amid the global financial crisis is a sign that the current government has a vision and always had a plan to take this country to another level, says the Vice President Lt Gen. Mompati Merafhe.

Addressing kgotla meetings at the main kgotla and Botalaote ward in Mahalapye last week, Gen. Merafhe said the move will take place due to P37.4 billion budgeted to finance and manage public affairs as well as the P10 billion that has been set aside for development projects for the financial year 2009/2010.

He explained that all the funds due to be utilised to fulfill the government’s objectives this financial year have been sourced from the country’s foreign reserves.

In this regard, he said Mahalapye among other places around the country will get a face lift due to the projects earmarked for the area.
