Traditional food nutritious Masire

RAMOTSWA The former first lady, Lady Olebile Masire has urged Batswana to eat traditional foods, as they are nutritionally good for their health.

Lady Masire was speaking at the launch of the second book of Botswana Indigenous Food Recipes during the Commemoration of the International Day of the Family at Otse in the South East District.

The book is the second in a series produced by the Home Economics Division of the Department of Social Services.

Lady Masire said indigenous foods were nutritionally superior as they had higher levels of vitamins, minerals as well as other essential nutrients. She said people suffered from different diseases and traditional foods could be the solution to reduce those diseases.
