Tlou admits need to improve health system

PARLIAMENT – The health minister, Prof. Sheila Tlou, has concurred with lawmakers on the need to improve the health system to meet international standards.

The minister however said MPs should be aware that this would not be an overnight achievement. She was responding to their comments prior to Parliaments approval of almost P1.8 billion recurrent and about P576 million development budgets for the Ministry of Health on Tuesday.

Addressing the legislators concerns regarding delays of some projects, she assured them that the undertakings would be implemented as scheduled.
