The continued demand for credit may force the South African Reserve Bank to hike rates in April, reported SABC on Friday.

The bank said the growth in demand for credit quickened to 26,12 percent year-on-year in February from 24,83 percent in January.

During the same period the broadly-defined M3 measure of money supply – it is an estimate of the entire supply of money within an economy – also grew by 22,9 percent.
