Recalled SA ambassador returns to Israel

The South African ambassador to Israel, Ismail Coovadia, will return to that country to resume his duties after he was recalled for consultation following an attack on a Turkish ship which killed nine people.

“Following extensive discussions and consultations with Coovadia, the decision was taken by government for (him) to return to Tel Aviv to resume his duties there,” Department of International Relations spokesperson Saul Molobi said on Tuesday.

A probe into the attack by an internal committee had been concluded.
