In response to delays in the Mmamabula Energy Project (MEP), Chinese energy and mining titan Golden Concord Holdings Limited has snapped up a 70-percent equity in the 300-megawatt power station being developed by CIC Energy.
With the 1 200 MW coal-fired Mmamabula Energy Project (MEP) hamstrung by South African bureaucracy, CIC Energy last week announced it would fast-track the development of a 300 MW power station for domestic consumption purposes.

GABORONE – The Department of Roads is currently de-bushing the Martins Drift/Palapye Road using casual labourers and it is anticipated that they will complete the process by the end of May. Another team, said The Minister of Transport and Communications, Mr Frank Ramsden, was assembled from the Kgagodi/Palapye village to conduct bush clearing along the Kgagodi/Palapye Road.
Mr Ramsden was responding to Palapye MP, Mr Moiseraele Goya, who wanted to know if the minister was aware that the Martins Drift/Palapye and Kgagodi/Palapye roads had grown trees that obscured motorists. Mr Goya also wanted to know what plans were in place to [continue reading]
