No job losses in public service

KANYE – Moshupa MP, Mr Mokgweetsi Masisi says despite the trying economic conditions, the countrys leadership has decided to do all it can to avoid job losses in the public service.

Mr Masisi, who was addressing kgotla meetings at Manyana and Tlanege said government decided to apply for loans from the international financial institutions and even draw from the countrys foreign reserves to mitigate the effects of the global economic meltdown.

He said the countrys economy was inter-related to the economies of other countries where mineral resources were sold.

Therefore, when such economies were in bad shape, they impacted negatively on Botswanas economy.
