Choppies boosts Khama trust

GABORONE – The President, Lieutenant General Seretse Khama Ian Khama has thanked Choppies for donating food items to Lady Khama Charitable Trust.
The parcels would be distributed to The Boys on the Border, an initiative of the late Lady Khama, as a way of appreciating members of the Botswana Defence Force at a time when other members of society took time to be with their families during Christmas.
Lt Gen. Khama said after the passing away of Lady Khama, he took it upon himself to continue the initiative and consequently formed the trust in her name.
He said apart from The Boys on the Border, other beneficiaries would include members of the Botswana Police Service, patients and children at different villages.
The donation, which amounted to P400 000, would benefit 6 000 people.
