Diamonds land man in trouble

MAUN – The Maun Magistrate Court on Friday convicted former Debswana mine employee, Obokeng Kealeboga of two counts of unlawful possession of four rough diamonds.
Magistrate Clifford Foroma said the defense had dismally failed to justify how Kealeboga got the three diamonds, which were found on a mat inside a taxi he had bordered and the one found at his house in a Vaseline container.
Mr Foroma said that it is common cause that the accused freely and voluntarily divulged information about the said diamonds to the police, adding that the torture that the accused alleges was perpetuated after the diamonds were handed.
