Magistrates threaten mass resignations

The Minister of Defence, Justice and Security, Brig. Dikgakgamatso Ramadeluka Seretse, had said that though he had not been briefed on the recent ‘protest’ by magistrates, the Attorney General’s Chambers is working on a draft Judicial Service Bill that will among other things look at the working conditions of judges and magistrates.
The Minister was commenting on reports that tension is mounting among junior and senior magistrates across the country who are threatening to resign from their jobs if the Administration of Justice fails to iron out a number of outstanding issues affecting their [continue reading]
