NBB orders BTV, RB to air Opposition statements

The National Broadcasting Board (NBB) has ordered State broadcasters, Botswana Television and Radio Botswana to afford other registered political parties the opportunity that the Botswana Democratic Party (BDP) had to air their party political broadcast.
The NBB ruling follows several broadcasts on Radio Botswana and Botswana Television of a BDP statement entitled, “Address and Press Release by His Excellency the President of the Republic of Botswana Lt General Ian Khama on the Current Affairs of the Botswana Democratic Party – 20th August 2009”.
