Work on the Green Point Stadium, R300 and N2 highway will be affected when workers down tools next week following a wage dispute, says the National Union of Mineworkers.
On Tuesday morning, the union served the strike notice on the South African Federation of Civil Engineering Contractors, the construction sector’s employer body.
Following the collapse of marathon talks on Friday, the union accepted the certificate of non-resolution to the dispute.
Meanwhile, mobilisation has begun and strike action is set to begin next Wednesday.
