Khama should pick woman VP – Kwelagobe

Botswana Democratic Party (BDP) chairman Daniel Kwelagobe has said he will advise party president Lt Gen Ian Khama to nominate a woman as Vice President after the general elections.
He was speaking at the launch of the Kanye South parliamentary candidate on Saturday. Kwelagobe said he understood that the President had made it clear that the current Vice President, Lt. Gen Mompati Merafhe, would not serve two terms therefore he would advise him to consider a woman for the position. The added advantage would be that Botswana would have a woman president after Khama’s term had expired, he said.
