Tawana secures control of Orapa diamond prospect

Australian based Tawana Resources (ASX: TAW) has moved to 100 per cent ownership of the Orapa Project in the north-east.
In a statement on Wednesday, Tawana said it will pursue new initiatives for the rapid development and bulk sampling of several kimberlites in this highly prospective area.
The Orapa Kimberlite field is located in north-eastern Botswana and includes the Orapa, Letlhakane and Damtshaa diamond mines which produce in excess of 13 million carats of diamonds per year.
The Orapa Kimberlite field is one of the largest diamondiferous kimberlite fields in the world, containing 79 known kimberlites. Tawana’s high prospective BK24 kimberlite is located 20km from the Orapa mine, 30km from the Letlhakane mine and only 6km from the Damtshaa mine.
