GABORONE – Members of Parliament verbally attacked each other last Thursday while the acting Deputy Speaker, Mr Maitlhoko Mooka battled to control the boiling tempers.
The personal attacks started on Wednesday when Gaborone Central MP, Mr Dumelang Saleshando labelled Mr Jacob Nkate and his assistant minister “incompetent.” Debating a motion tabled by the Minister of Finance and Development Planning, Mr Baledzi Gaolathe requesting supplementary estimates of expenditure from the consolidated and development funds for the 2007/2008 and 2008/2009 financial years, Mr Kavis Kario accused the Gaborone Central MP of abusing Parliament.
