TUTUME – Minister of Finance and Development Planning, Mr Baledzi Gaolathe has advised the residents of Nshakazhogwe to familiarise themselves with the stock market so that they can gain business knowledge. Mr Gaolathe further advised the residents to take advaantage of the Botswana Stock Exchange (BSE)’s initiative of putting some measures in place to educate Batswana on the basic aspects of business and the importance of buying shares in the listed companies.

BSE has produced a pamphlet to educate Batswana on this issue. The pamphlet has a translated Setswana version so as to reach as many people as possible Mr Gaolathe was responding to the complaints from the residents that the government is privatising some companies such as the Botswana Telecommunications Corporation and encouraging people to buy shares, while many people are not versed in the business processes and expertise.
