MAPUTO (Reuters) - Shanghai-based Touchroad International plans to invest $250 million to help build five industrial parks across Africa, with the first planned in Botswana this month, the group’s chairman said on Thursday.
“This is the biggest project we are doing in Africa and this kind of industrial park, we want to set up five in Africa for the coming years,” He Liehui told Reuters at the African Development Bank’s annual meeting in Maputo, Mozambique.
He estimated the group’s projected future investment to be in the region of $250 million, with the company providing direct funding of $51 million for the project in Gabarone, Botswana.
